Francis of Assisi is a much appreciated saint both in the Christian and in the non-christian tradition. When he spoke about the world, he often meant a reality he wanted to distance himself from the things pertaining to it. In order to leave this world, he did not join a monastery, did not become a hermit. In this book the author describes the way of Francis and his first brothers. He liberated the centuries old document from the ambiance of pious texts and uncovered and actualized the original, evangelical form of life.
